We have an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist for our four divisions (Alpha Better Landscaping, Delta Landscaping, Homescapes and Wheatland Trees) under the Alpha Better Group of Companies umbrella. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will advise on strategies in the Human Resource function including employee relations, performance management, training and development, policy and procedure development and implementation, various program implementation and management, talent attraction and retention, compensation & benefits including contract negotiations.

  • Provide advice, support and recommendations on a wide range of HR issues to all stakeholders while championing and enforcing corporate values.
  • Heavy recruitment for a variety of field positions for 2-3 months to gear up for our landscaping season. Recruitment occurs throughout the year and includes corporate positions as well.
  • Facilitate and advise on annual compensation planning processes by completing yearly salary surveys and providing recommendations for salary and bonus.
  • Develop, implement and enforce HR policies, procedures and programs.
  • Resolve employee relations and other HR related organizational issues in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Coach and mentor all levels of employees in HR best practices.
  • Analyze and report on HR related key performance indicators and trends that affect organizational performance.
  • Address queries as they relate to Employment Standards interpretation to ensure compliance.
  • Support the company, across all four divisions and promote teamwork.

Technical Requirements
  • Solid understanding of best practices, employment standards, human rights and federal legislation related to Human Resources.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
  • Intermediate to advanced HRIS skills.
  • Post-secondary education in related discipline
  • Generalist background is essential
  • HR related designation is also considered an asset in combination with years of experience
