Located in NW Calgary amongst the sun splashed hillsides, mountain view horizons, and overlooking the Bow River Valley, the Vistas of Tuscany offer a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life. Completed in 2014, the multi-unit residential project provides the residents of the Villas a landscape deserving of their impressive back drop.
Construction began in 2013 and was undertaken in three phases to mirror unit sales, creating access and logistical obstacles throughout the landscape project. An environmentally sensitive area bordered the Vistas and thus, great care was taken in order to minimize the disturbance of these natural areas. The contours of the site produced substantial grade changes which were addressed by building modular retaining walls, resulting in creative solutions having to be found for construction access and routing of the irrigation mainline. In addition to the retaining walls, a grade change at the NW corner of the site was mitigated with rock mulch and a dry creek bed, following the natural drainage path of the area.
